The Department of Facilities Services has the primary responsibility for maintaining Washington State University's official space inventory data. The annual update is necessary to ensure that the data are current, accurate and complete. The university's space inventory data file serves many university needs and is used for a variety of critical internal/external reports, analyses and decisions such as:
Each area/college is responsible for the coordination of the updating of the space inventory for each department in its area/college. Please distribute the space inventory data for each department to the responsible individual in that department for updating. Each department should then return the updated space inventory data to the area/college administrator, who will then send the updated area/college space inventory packet back to Facility Services.
